Brock Davis, or Laser Bread as he is known on Flickr, is an awesome artists who does everything from drawings to photography. His work is so simple yet so creative, and when I look at his work it makes me think to myself - "why have I never thought of this!" Brock just completed his first ever cover for Time Magazine this past October, so I thought it was about time I featured him on the sassyNpunk blog =) Enjoy!

Jewelpet is one of my favorite cartoons ever! Jewelpet is made by Sanrio, but it's not very popular here in the US. It hasn't been edited for English speaking audiences, and it doesn't air in the US... I'm pretty sure it only airs in Japan, but you can watch it online with subtitles. Anyway, there are 3 seasons of Jewelpet - Jewelpet, Jewelpet Tinkle, and Jewelpet Sunshine. Jewelpet Tinkle is by far the most popular and my personal favorite!

I really really love this girl's Darth Vader tattoo! It's cute, sassy, and punky ;)
I looked and looked, and most of the Star Wars tattoos people have suck ass. This one really is one of the best I have seen. I like the way it looks like a drawing instead of a movie still.
Along with the good, we also have the bad. For example, this God awful Sailor Moon tattoo has got to be one of the shittiest tattoos I have ever seen. Yuck! This girl's tattoo artist needs to get hit by a bus.

Recently I stumbled upon some really cute cartoons online. Upon further investigation, I found the cutest little blog on Tumblr called ChiBird. It's already becoming one of my favorite spots on the web! All the comics are drawn by high school cutie, Jackie, and depict all the little adventures she has everyday. I'm sure everyone can relate to them in one way or another. Her site is super fun, so I encourage everyone to check out ChiBird on Tumblr and Facebook!
The name might not ring a bell, but the hilarious scenes made famous by the Warner Bros cartoon featuring Bugs Bunny sure will! The Rabbit of Seville is a cartoon written by Chuck Jones and is based off of the 1775 play by Pierre Beaumarchais. This is definitely one of my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons. It always makes me smile, and I just thought I'd post it to bring back some childhood memories for everyone ^_^

2. Cutting Blvd Sign
Stealing street signs may be more of a Sid Phillips move, but we'll forgive Andy for this one; W. Cutting Blvd. is the street where Pixar was originally located in Richmond, CA.
3. A113
ince the first Toy Story, Andy's mom has had the licenseplate A113, a reference to an animation room at CalArts. The number pops up across the animation world as an in-joke in dozens of films and television series, everything from The Iron Giant to "The Simpsons." In Toy Story 3, the plate is surrounded by a frame that says "Tiger Pride," a reference to director Lee Unkrich's hometown of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and his high school mascot.
4. Totoro
Courtesy of Studio Ghibli, Totoro himself makes an appearance in the form of one of Bonnie's plush toys.
5. Redrum
Velocistar237 is more than just a dinosaur toy. He's also a fan of The Shining, just like Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, who lists it as his favorite film. The numbers 237 are famously the numbers of the hotel room in the film.
6. Ellie and Carl
It looks like Andy is pen pals with Carl and Ellie Fredricksen from Up. It's hard to spot, but /Film caught this postcard on Andy's post-it board.
The Sailor Moon Star Locket is one of the most sought after Sailor Moon collectibles floating around, and probably the most expensive! A factory sealed locket will run you anywhere from $300 -$800, but it's easy to see why! The locket looks just like the one from the cartoon, and it even plays the same song! I have never seen one in person before, and I probably never will. However, I recently came across this crazy Marc Jacobs star necklace @ Saks Fith Avenue.... See where i'm going with this? The Sailor Moon Star Locket has a very distinct shape to it... the same shape Mr. Jacobs has chosen for his necklace. Plus, why not just make a plain star with no clock, or have some other image in the center. The circle shape in the center just makes me even more suspicious of some super hero influence! Now, having a musical locket for the pendant would probably be too complicated and bulky for an elegant necklace...not to mention pricey! So what's the obvious alternative to some kind of circular gadget to stick in the center? A clock!
