Golden Book Couture

Remember those wonderful hardcover story books with the golden spine? That's right, I'm talking about Golden Books! The popular children's book series which has made famous stories such as, The Little Red Hen and Mother Goose, is now getting attention for something completely different! Believe it or not, Golden Books has officially gone Couture and is making a serious impression on the fashion industry thanks to designer, Ryan Novelline. This story book gown has been officially declared "so amazing" by designer Tommy Hilfigure and "a Couture gown even Cinderella would envy" by Random House Publishing.

"The skirt is comprised entirely of the illustrations from the books sewn together with metallic gold thread, and the bodice is made from the books' foil spines. Both the bodice and skirt have tape backing for reinforcement."

Lisa Luxe : Tattooed Pin Up Extraordinaire

Great things really do come in small packages! Just ask, Lisa Luxe, the pocket sized pin up who's got a little more than experience under her belt. Lisa has been featured in tons of publications (both online and in print), she's a spokes model for companies like Vintage Suits by Mary and sassyNpunk, to name a few... and even does runway. Yep, this little pinup has got major modeling chops, and I recently got to ask her a few questions about what makes her so awesome! Here's what I found out:

What's your professional name and how did you come up with it?
"Lisa Luxe, suggested by a friend and it sounded good!"

When did you decide to start modeling and why?

"I started about three years ago, I didn't really decide to start, it was an opportunity that I took advantage of and had a blast so I continued to persue it."

Did you consider yourself "beautiful" growing up?
"Physically not so much, as a person, I suppose yes. . . I try to be as considerate and caring as I can."

What is your greatest accomplishment to date?
"The fact that I found such an amazing man to marry and I didn't let him get away. . . "

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"Happy. I never would have guessed in my wildest dreams five years ago, that I would be where I am today. . . so I'm just going with the flow and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes my way!"

Do you wear you sassyNpunk products?
"Of course! I especially love my custom "Luxe" Pendant!"

Christian Dior fires John Galliano

French fashion house Christian Dior says it is firing famed designer John Galliano after an online video showed him praising Adolf Hitler.
Christian Dior said Tuesday Galliano has been immediately laid off, just days after he was suspended as its creative director pending an investigation into an alleged anti-Semitic incident in a Paris cafe last week.
A video posted online Monday showed Galliano, in a different incident, drunkenly telling a cafe patron "I love Hitler."
The house said in a statement: "Today, because of the particularly odious nature of the behavior and words of John Galliano in a video made public this Monday, the Christian Dior house has decided to lay him off immediately and has begun firing procedures against him."
Dior had came under pressure after Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman, one of the company's spokesmodels, said in a statement she "will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way."
