Get to know Masuimi Max

Masuimi Max is a professional model, burlesque performer and infamous troublemaker among other things. You might know her as the spokes model for PinUp Girl Clothing and other companies. Besides modeling and performing she has a growing interest in acting, some of the films you can see her in are State of the Union and a film by David Lynch called Inland Empire. In 2011, she joined the sassyNpunk family, and we couldn't be more thrilled! I recently got to ask her a few questions, and here's a what I found out...

 


When did you decide to start modeling and why?

"I wanted to be a lot of things when I was a kid, but my earliest memory is one of me prancing down the aisle at church as if I was on a catwalk and my mother and father being truly horrified. LOL."

 Did you consider yourself "beautiful" growing up?

"No. I was constantly picked on as a child. My father was in the airforce and we were constantly moving all over the place. I moved a lot before highschool and never quite fit.. everything that turned out good for me was bad growing up. LOL. Seriously, I was picked on for having big lips, slanty eyes and small nose.. I guess I looked like a cabage patch kid, ha ha!"

What is your greatest accomplishment to date?

"I'm not sure how to answer that question because I have had a lot of great things happen in my life and it's hard to narrow it down to one thing or instance. :-) I guess the thing I am most proud of is that I deal with things in a more positive way now, I'm always learning and I never settle on what I know."

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

"The next 5 years; I'm working on my makeup company, lingerie line and shoe line! I'm also working on a tv pilot, I hope it gets picked up!"

Unique Finds

I love searching the internet for really rare and unique items...usually which are way too expensive for any sane person to afford. It's like online window shopping for me, i am not looking for anything in particular nor am i planning to buy anything, but it's just fun to see what you find! Over the last few days i kept stumbling upon some really crazy and unique Little Twin Stars stuff. Now, you guys know they are my favorite Sanrio character, so i just had to share these finds with you.

The first is this little twin stars water filled mouse! I have never seen any LTS products like this before, so i was really surprised when i came across this. Unfortunately, it's only sold in japan and if you can find it in the US it will run you about $60.

 

Next, is a cute vintage brooch set from 1976. Not that unique, but still a really cute find . This little pin set will set you back about $80... ouch! >.<

Next, is a 1976 Little Twin Stars eraser... looks pretty normal, right? Well if a $60 eraser is normal to you, then by all means, erase away! Think about that next time you make a spelling mistake!

And finally, i found this really cute LTS safe! It's not vintage or anything, but it's really cute... and i'm tempted to get one! It has a padlock and key, so it's good for storing all those candy bars somebody keeps stealing from my drawer! >.<

Sailor Mercury and Other News

Mizuro Ami (Japanese) / Amy / Sailor Mercury

Amy is the brains of the team. Anytime anything mentally complex presents itself, she rises to the challenge. Rated with an IQ approaching that of a genius, she can generally solve almost any puzzle that the Sailor Scoutsfinds themselves in.

I don't want to give away too many surprises, but we are having so much fun working on the Sailor Moon series that we have decided to release special edition pieces too! We can release these at any time we like, along with the weekly character piece. These special editions will range from bows to boxes, to keychains and other trinkets. So keep your eyes peeled for that!

We've already unveiled two of our super cute Necklaces from our Sailor Moon series. The first necklace was, of course, a  heart shaped pendant featuring the one and only Sailor Moon ! It is full of beautiful swirls of color and has two little star and moon charms dangling from the bottom. Really cute! Buy it Now!

Usagi Tsukino (japanese) / Serena Tsukino (name) / Sailor Moon:

Usagi/Serena was the first senshi to appear with Luna's help.  Usagi starts off as a 14-year-old crybaby scaredy-cat who meets Luna. Luna is a very sophisticated, smart, talkative cat who teaches Usagi about her duties as Sailor Moon. In fact, Luna is the one who gave Usagi the transformation stick which transforms Usagi into Sailor Moon. Usagi meets a lot of friends along the way, such as the other senshi. Usagi rather become friends than fight or kill. She wishes to become a normal teenager and live a normal life. She also wishes to marry Mamoru, her future husband, and current boyfriend. She eats and sleeps a lot and usually chickens out and lets one of the other senshi handle the dangerous situations. However, she is always loyal and there for anyone. She transforms into other levels of power such as Eternal Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Moon. She has trouble with school (either cause she is lazy or just dumb), especially math.

The second installment to the series is a really gorgeous sparkling red giant heart with heart embellishments floating inside. This pendant sparkles like crazy and is the most beautiful red i have ever seen. Orange tint surrounds Sailor Mars as if she is glowing  and a cute little satin bow is the icing on the cake!Buy it Now!

Rei Hino / Sailor Mars:

Rei, or Sailor Mars, is the sly one of the group. She's pretty mature and let's Usagi know when she's being a baby. She's really loyal to Usagi, despite their differences. Rei works with her Grandpa at a shrine. She basically does fire-readings, sells charms, and cleans up the shrine (not to mention watch over her Grandpa a lot!). Rei has the ability to use these little scroll thingies to attack enemies called ofudas. Her dream is... well she has a lot of dreams; she wishes to be a business woman, singer, songwriter, pilot, etc... but I think she mainly wants to inherit the shrine and become the top priestess.

I figured now would be a good time to update everyone on sassyNpunk news since quite a bit has been happening these last few weeks. To start off, i'll reiterate what i stated in my last post, which was basically letting customers know that shipping will be slower this time of year, so get your orders in ASAP!!
